Creative Roots Run Deep
Gwynrose Designs founder Jennifer
Wear is one of those inspired - and lucky - people who
recognized her true creative calling at an early age. When
asked about her passion for design, Jennifer says that even as a
teen, she knew that creative design was her destiny. Early in
her high school career, she discovered set design and quickly
rose to leadership in the ranks of the Drama Department's Tech
Crew.
An avid seamstress and artist,
with a passion for Renaissance-style arts, Jennifer finds
inspiration in touring historical architecture and ruins. That
"sense of the past," combined with her flair for modern
interpretation, influence her designs. On a recent
extended tour of all that Italy has to offer the world of design
and architecture, she delighted in sending home hand-sketched
postcards of landmarks along her tour.
In addition to a strong foundation
of design skills and knowledge, Jennifer is well-versed in both
PC and Apple-based design products, including Adobe Illustrator,
Adobe Photoshop, and Auto-CAD systems. And when she's feeling
particularly hands-on, and eager to connect with that "sense of
the past," she also enjoys hand-drawing or rendering on the
large-scale drafting table which has a prominent place in her
kitchen.
Jennifer earned her AA degree in
Interior Design from Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa,
CA, and her BA degree in Interior Design from California State
University, Sacramento. In addition to her work in interior
design, she is an active participant at Renaissance Faire events
throughout California, crafting elaborate costumes in her role
as a member of the House of Gordon, where she also manages
financial affairs as the guild treasurer.
